Ready to strike
out on your own but don't know how to start? Let Lily Kerns show you how the simple
act of doodling can spark your creativity in Playing with Lines and Shapes. The
most important things you need for this class are your imagination and a willingness to take chances. Grab a pencil,
a stylus or your favorite piece of charcoal and make some magic. Learn
more.
Crazy
quilting is back in the spotlight and Cindy Thury Smith can show you several different
ways to make these fascinating blocks in Crazy Quilt Piecing. Whether you use big
pieces or small, sew on foundations or just wing it, this is a great way to showcase special fabrics and your love for
color and embellishment. Be inspired by student work in the Gallery.

with Paint gives you a chance to get down and dirty. You can smear
paint on fruit, vegetables, plastic mesh, hand-carved stamps, freezer paper
stencils, bubble wrap and nearly anything else you can think of. Why
should children have all the fun? Lyric Kinard will show you how to
unleash your inner child and make wonderful designs on your fabric.
Experiment with both wet and dry washes. Finish up by creating a
unique silk scarf. Learn more.
Do you
have a love-hate relationship with specialty threads? Filament Fantasy will give
you plenty of practice with all kinds of threads and yarns. Linda Schmidt will guide
you as you play in the tangled sandbox and make sense of weights, needles, stitch lengths, tension and design elements.
Use hearts or any shape you fancy. See student work in the Gallery.

Did
you already start buying beads even though you have no idea how to put them on your quilts or clothes?
Susan Brittingham knows that the answer to the question To Bead
or Not to Bead is a resounding "Yes!" and she is just the person to get you started. Learn to add the subtle
touch or go all the way and bead a motif cut from fabric like the one shown here. See student work in the
Gallery. Learn more.
